When we talk about Ulun Danu Temple, may be a lot of people doesn’t have any idea about this place. But most of the people who want to travel to Bali they usually see how Bali is from magazine, travel book, and internet. Mostly this temple become the icon of Bali. this place is two hours from the airport, and for you who want to travel to this place, at least you have to spend a day trip to this place.

This temple is located on Bratan lake, surrounding by the beautiful lake and forest in the mountain near Bedugul. When you travel to this place you will pass rain forest, vagetables and fruits garden from the local farmer, this place will give you different feeling then south area of bali, the air is fresher and the area is greener. The Ulun Danu Bratan temple build in 1633, and this temple is used for offerings ceremony to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Bratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali. The 11-storey pelinggih meru in the complex is dedicated to Shiva and his consort Parvathi. Buddha’s statue is also enshrined in this temple.
Lake Bratan is known as the Lake of Holy Mountain due to the fertility of this area. Located 1200 m above sea level, it has a cold tropical climate.
