Balinda –
Pros
– Beautiful and relaxing white water rafting through the jungle, past waterfalls, and stone carvings.
– Stopped at a waterfall where we could get into the water and stand under it to take photos.
– Fun/cheeky guides who encouraged us to splash/race other rafts.
– Rapids were fairly gentle, enough to be fun but not scary.
– Took turns being seated at the front of the raft.
– I was the only one being picked up by my driver, so didn’t waste time picking up other people.
– Towel and hot showers provided afterwards.
– Lunch was buffet style with rice with chicken, potato, veggies, prawn crackers, and sealed cups of water.
Cons
– 250 steps down to the river. Some of the steps are very high, e.g. the height of 2-3 normal steps. The first part didn’t have a railing to hold on to, but the last part did, thankfully. My quadriceps started shaking about 2/3 of the way down and were sore for the next day or two.
– About half the number of steps coming back up at the end, but those were normal height so actually not as bad.
